Coron is well connected both by air and by sea transportation.
By plane we have direct flights from Manila NAIA, form Clark International, from Cebu International Airport and from El Nido private airport. The name of our airport is Busuanga Jose Reyes Airport and the code USU. Different airlines serving our island are Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, Sunlight Air and Swift Air (this one from and to El Nido only). Please book well in advance because sometimes gets fully booked or prices go up for last minute reservations. Also, notice that once arriving, immediately after the arrivals gate you will find a van service for joiners that will take you to your hotel for just 250php.
By boat we have ferry services mainly from Manila and from El Nido. From our capital city the main providers are 2Go Shipping lines and Atienza shipping lines, their ferries depart once a week and take around 22 hours of sailing. From El Nido we have several fast boats providing the service, sailing time around 4,40 hours and companies servicing are Montenegro, Atienza, Jomalia and Phimal shipping lines. They all have their own websites and do allow reservations.
Also there are shipping connections to San Jose in Mindoro, Cuyo, Cullion and Puerto Princesa, but these are not common needs for the standard traveler or tourists, non the less, if you need any info related to the subject our advisors will be happy to help.

In Coron we have a wide range and variety of options for your hotel stay. Both for the vibrant community of young backpackers and divers, but also for those customers expecting a little bit more of comfort and exclusivity.
Hotels and resorts:
Corto del Mar, Two Seasons hotel, Funny Lion, Tag Resort, West Town Resort.
We have chosen the order shown in this list according their location, so the first hotel in this list will be the closest to the city center and so on. Please notice that whilst the city center would give you some comfort when you feel like strolling around or shopping in the neighborhood, also might be a bit noisier because of the traffic or the chicken roosters that you will see everywhere in your trip to the Philippines. We suggest to have a good look at their information page and customer’s feedback to make sure you are booking what you need according your preferences.
Alternatively, you could talk to one of our advisors, they will be happy to help with your booking, at no extra cost. And we are local people, so totally familiar with each location advantages and weakest points.
Hostels and lodges:
Bam Bam hostel, Bakawan hostel, Dayon hostel, Outpost hostel, Hop hostel.
Again, this list starts with the locations in or near the city center, so each place would have advantages and maybe some inconvenient. Although we don’t book for hostels, we will still be happy to advice you and to proceed to book complimentary services like island hopping tours, expeditions tours or diving experiences.
Coron is definitely a vibrant city, so there is no shortage of places to eat well and to have a drink afterwards. Many of the hotels and hostels have beautiful places for a drink around their pool or in their roof with an attractive view. Non the less, for those travelers that feel like adventuring outside and mixing with the locals and other travelers, these are our preferences:
Restaurants:
Bam bar complex: it’s a central patio with live music and several bars and restaurants around it. In the Brew House you will have not only locally made beer of the best quality, but also excellent food like pork schnitzel, In the Santino restaurant you will find excellent ribs, in the Chowline really good pizzas and burguers, and in the Amihan restaurant a good selection or French cuisine.
Not far from this place you will find an excellent restaurant named Pacifico, with aircon, international gastronomy, biggest and best burgers we have ever seen with beef imported from Australia. We also have Gran Italia for best quality pizzas and lasagna, also with a really good wine selection. Another restaurant worth a visit it’s the Castizo, with Spanish food and probably one of the best gazpacho and croquetas we have ever tasted. Another good restaurant it’s the Lobster King, but it might get a bit crowded sometimes, also being outside the city center could be an issue for easiness of access. For Filipino gastronomy we suggest Umami Kusina restaurant. Easy access, comfortable place and superb adobo or caldereta and a really good hot pork sizzling.
Nightlife:
A good place to start the night out could be a rooftop bar with great views like Levines restaurant, Hop hostel or Sky Lodge resort. Or maybe a good bar with live music like Island Boy Grill or the Bam Bar we mentioned before, and has the advantage of being located in Real Street where most of the bars and bistros are located. For after dinner drinks we might suggest Kuridas bar (where you could get also a tattoo). No Name bar it’s also a local classic drinking spot for those undecided on where to go, and for those looking for a drink with company probably Yukis bar would be a really good choice. Cheers!!
Coron town it’s a tourist hub with lots of options to have fun and to experience and admire the coral reef and the amazing beaches or even the jungle around us. This is a little list on the number of activities that can be done in coordination with the local tour agencies and the nearby hotels. Please contact us if you need any special advice in any of these, we are always happy to help:
